Pure salmon is an important source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids and other essential nutrients that offer health benefits to cats and dogs. Salmon can be included in pet food as different kinds of ingredient, such as dried salmon, salmon meal, salmon hydrolyzate, or salmon oil. All of these ingredients are made from pure and fresh-farmed Chilean salmon that adheres to the highest international sustainability and quality standards. IQI salmon products are available both MarinTrust and ASC certified, the latter being subject to availability.
Dried salmon is made from fresh side streams of pure Chilean salmon. Pure salmon off-cuts are used without any trace of salmon intestines. The salmon raw materials are processed enzymatically and are conserved through a gentle spray-drying process as dried salmon that can be applied to pet food directly. Dried salmon is rich in protein and other essential nutrients, including long-chain omega-3 fatty acids and natural antioxidants.
