Organizational Announcement: Arjan van Waes – New Managing Director IQI

We are pleased to announce that Arjan van Waes will take over the role of Managing Director of IQI effective July 1^st, 2025, succeeding Mark Oostendorp, who will step down and leave IQI.

In his new role, Arjan will report to Erik Schöttl, Managing Director OSI Europe Foodworks. He will lead the IQI team, drive growth and create synergies within the whole OSI organization. His responsibility will also be to lead IQI’s transformation from a specialty ingredients distributor to a full-service provider and producer of high-quality pet food ingredients. With a growing product portfolio and strong customer focus, IQI is well-positioned to strengthen its role as a trusted and innovative industry partner, for both its customers and suppliers.

Arjan joined IQI in June 2024 as Global Sales Director, bringing with him extensive industry experience and a strong track record in commercial strategy. Over the past year, he has worked closely, together with the IQI team, with customers and suppliers to identify and develop strategic opportunities within the pet food industry. His insights into key market trends and his ability to leverage deep industry relationships have already made a significant impact.

In late 2023, IQI became part of the OSI Group through strategic acquisition. Under Mark Oostendorp’s leadership, the company successfully expanded its specialty ingredients business and is now part of OSI. Reflecting on his tenure, Mark stated: “It has been a real pleasure and honor to be part of the IQI team.” We want to take the opportunity to thank Mark Oostendorp for his contribution.

This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for IQI, as we continue to deliver value, innovation, and quality across the global pet food markets enabling our customers and our suppliers to reach more pets.
